# GOON token

GOON token is the first token to reach a critical mass and graduate on the newly launched wen.markets on June 6, 2024. It quickly gained attention due to its distinctive mascot, the GOON, a playful take on the word 'Polygon.' The GOON has been appearing frequently, thanks to a few well-known contributors from the Polygon community.

GOON token has a symbiotic relationship with Polygon and the broader AggLayer ecosystem. Its primary mission is to cultivate a robust community that delivers significant value to the Polygon ecosystem, ultimately becoming an indispensable part of the social layer.
